Until 2001, our old school was occupied by WIMBLEDON CHASE MIDDLE SCHOOL, for 8 - 12 year olds. It was a fine school, (made a "Beacon School" by Ofsted) and worthy to follow in our footsteps. The Headmaster, Ian Hardy, and his Staff were wonderfully supportive, enabling us to use "our" school for meetings and Reunions.
In return, we contributed to special expenses, e.g. their stage audio system. In 2004 we provided a flagpole to be placed near where ours used to be and, at our Reunion in 2003, members contributed to the purchase of a school flag.

Sue Tomes, the previous Deputy Head, is now Head of WIMBLEDON CHASE PRIMARY SCHOOL, which caters for 3 to 11 year olds. Sue values us as part of her school’s history. She adopted our school birthday, March 8th, for the new school, and once wore our old uniform to “beat the Bounds”.
Small tables and chairs have replaced our old brown desks. However, our Hall has not changed, apart from new lights and new stage curtains, but the old master prints have gone. The pond is well cared for. Children maintain flower-filled gardens along the front of the building. The Gym is still in use. The Head’s office is also unchanged. It received a new carpet to replace the 1924 one only a few years ago. Washbasins in the toilets were replaced at about the same time – we wondered whether the old ones would be collectibles!
The walls everywhere are covered with exciting displays of work. High standards are expected of Staff and Pupils alike. Pupils wear a smart uniform, they are very polite – and they are still not permitted to enter by the front door!
